Daniel Hess was a respected and admired photographer in Florida for over 30 years. He was a professional wedding, portrait and commercial photographer but his passion was nature photography.
His ability to capture birds in flight and patience waiting for the perfect shot was evident in the images he captured showing his artistic eye.
Dan’s photography is on display at Frames By The Thousands and the Art Alliance of Lemon Bay on Dearborn Street in Englewood, FL.
Photographer John Lewin saw some of Dan’s work for the first time and said, “The guy was technically very astute at what he did. He was imaginative. I call it writing with light. He found the light and then he wrote with it. He’s got everything form, depth, and texture.” The Sun / Tuesday, April 28, 2009.
“He was a beloved member of the community, known for his easy going nature and knowlege of photography, fine art reproduction, and framing.”
The Englewood Review April 24, 2009
Dan Hess lost his battle with melanoma cancer in January 2009. His wife, Beverly, plans to continue producing his images. He has a large archive of images which have never been released to the public that she plans to print.
